Migratory bird count up at Nangal wetland

NANGAL: A census conducted by the Worldwide Fund for Nature in association with the Chandigarh Bird Club, NGO Jagriti and Punjab Wildlife Department found a substantial increase in the number of migratory birds arriving at the national wetland here on Friday.

NANGAL: A census conducted by the Worldwide Fund for Nature in association with the Chandigarh Bird Club, NGO Jagriti and Punjab Wildlife Department found a substantial increase in the number of migratory birds arriving at the national wetland here on Friday. A total of 4,110 migratory birds were found at the Nangal wetland this time, while the count was 3,650 in last year census. Meanwhile, 1,850 birds were found in nearby downstream of the Nangal Dam and 152 at the ash pond of the National Fertilisers Limited. TNS
