Panel set up for Guru’s birth anniversary celebrations

CHANDIGARH: The state government has set up a committee to plan and execute various programmes and events to commemorate the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.



Chandigarh, December 15

The state government has set up a committee to plan and execute various programmes and events to commemorate the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.

A spokesperson said the committee would organise symposiums/exhibitions to disseminate the Guru’s teachings and propagate his life and works among the masses.

The committee comprises ACS (Development), ACS (Education) and the Vice-Chancellors of Punjab Agricultural University, Guru Nanak Dev University and Punjabi University.

Symposiums and exhibitions will be held at PAU, GNDU and Punjabi University on December 21, 22 and 23, respectively.

The government will organise a state-level function at Anandpur Sahib on December 24. — TNS
