Rape victim’s photos put online, five booked

FAZILKA: Five persons have been booked under Sections 66-A, 67, 67-A, of the IT Act and Section 6 of the Indecent Representation of Woman Act for allegedly uploading the obscene photos of a rape victim on social media at Mohkam Arian village in Fazilka district.

Five persons have been booked under Sections 66-A, 67, 67-A, of the IT Act and Section 6 of the Indecent Representation of Woman Act for allegedly uploading the obscene photos of a rape victim on social media at Mohkam Arian village in Fazilka district.

The Sadar Police Jalalabad booked Sukhwinder Singh, alias Sukhi, Balbir Singh, Nihalo Bai, Sukhchain Singh, all residents of Mohkam Arian village, and Gupreet Singh of Jalalabad town.

A married woman had alleged that Sukhwinder Singh had raped her on July 15. Sukhwinder booked under Section 376 of the IPC. He has been on the run.

She alleged that the relatives of the accused were pressuring her to resolve the issue, but she did not relent due to which they uploaded her photos on social media. She has demanded the arrest of the accused.
