Nangal, October 18
A day after the police arrested a woman for the murder of 48-year-old Tara Devi, former panch of Nikku Nangal village, the deceased’s son, Rajeev Kumar, accused the police of framing an innocent woman. He said there was a conspiracy behind his mother’s murder. He demanded an investigation by the CBI.
Tara Devi is said to have lent Rs 19,000 to accused Chandana, a native of West Bengal. While Chandana had returned nearly Rs 5,000, she was yet to pay the rest of the amount. Tara Devi went to Chandana to demand money on Wednesday when she went missing.
SHO Pawan Kumar Chandana had already confessed her crime, and the deceased’s jewellery had been recovered from her. — TNS
