Yadav replaces injured Thakur for first two ODIs

Mumbai: India pace bowler Umesh Yadav will replace Shardul Thakur in the squad for the first two ODIs against West Indies, BCCI said in a press statement. Yadav claimed 10 wickets in the second Test to help India thump the visitors in Hyderabad last week to clinch a 2-0 series win. The contest was one to forget for his fellow paceman Thakur, however, who bowled just 10 balls on the opening day before pulling his hamstring. BCCI said Thakur, who was originally named in the squad for the opening two ODIs, had suffered a right adductor tendon injury and was ruled out of the series.

Bengal Warriors registered their second consecutive victory as they beat Telugu Titans 30-25 in a thrilling encounter of the Pro Kabaddi Season VI on Tuesday. Maninder Singh was in fine raiding form for the Warriors and scored 11 points. It was a disappointing night for Telugu Titans as they squandered many opportunities to win the game. Rahul Chaudhari had a match to forget as he could score just two tackle points and made a costly error in the last minute. This was Telugu Titans’ first defeat of the tournament.
