Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the party will celebrate late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi’s 75th birth anniversary this week by organising memorial events across India.

The Congress, which was down to 52 MPs as against BJP’s 303 in the recent Lok Sabha election, is looking for ways to revive itself.

The party has decided to recall the contributions of Rajiv Gandhi as part of the late PM’s birth anniversary this year.

In a tweet today Rahul Gandhi said, “This week we will celebrate my father, Rajiv Gandhi Ji's 75th birth anniversary with memorial events across India. To honour him, each day this week, I will draw attention to one of his many incredible achievements. Today, the Information Technology revolution. #RajivGandhi75.”

Gandhi also posted a video that captured the journey of IT revolution in India and said Rajiv Gandhi unleashed India’s IT potential in 1985, introducing computers, PCOs and digitising railway ticketing procedures for the first time.
