A four-month-old girl was left abandoned outside Prabh Aasra, a home for the destitute, in Kurali on Friday morning. Shamsher Singh, organiser of Prabh Aasra, said the gatekeeper heard cries of the girl around 7.40 am and informed the management. The girl was found lying in the “panghuda” outside the home. The person who abandoned the child had also placed a milk feeder nearby. The baby was taken to the Civil Hospital, Kharar, where she was found healthy. They informed the Kurali police and the child welfare officer about the girl. She has been named Ekampreet by the home and is being taken care of.
