Two engineers held for fraud

BATHINDA: The Mansa police on Tuesday arrested two engineers who had floated a fake firm and were allegedly duping people on the pretext of helping them get government jobs or loans.

The Mansa police on Tuesday arrested two engineers who had floated a fake firm and were allegedly duping people on the pretext of helping them get government jobs or loans.

The police have recovered Rs 2.05 lakh and some forged documents from their possession.

The duo has been sent to two-day police remand. According to the police, the accused, Bhupinder Singh and Munna Kumar Yadav, had opened their office at the Gaushala road in Mansa.

The duo was caught when they were returning to the town from Sardulgarh. The police have registered a against them. Incidentally, the father of one of the accused works with the Police Department while that of the other is in the Army.

The police claimed that they had set up offices at Abohar, Jagraon, Patiala, Pathankot and Hoshiarpur. — TNS
