Amritsar, April 30

To augment the state government’s fight against the raging pandemic, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) president Akshay Sharma on Friday handed over 15 Covid-19 ambulances, equipped with oxygen cylinders, masks, gloves and PPE kits to the district administration.

He said the Covid-19 ambulances were being operationalised in Amritsar and Ludhiana on the directions of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

“Launched under the Congress ‘Covid Task Force Mission’, these ambulances will have a driver and ward boy round the clock. Ever since onset of this ferocious second wave, the NSUI have been on the forefront to provide bed, medicines and food to patients. The service will soon be launched in Jallandhar, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur,” he said.

Akshay urged people to stay indoors and follow the health guidelines to tackle the virus.
