The Railway Childline on Friday found three minors without guardian at the Ambala Cantonment railway station. They were produced before the Child Welfare Committee.
While two of them were united with their guardians, a minor girl was sent to Ashiana Shelter Home in Panchkula after she refused to go home.
A 13-year-old boy, who originally belongs to Bihar, has been living with his maternal uncle in Punjab for study. In order to meet his parents, he boarded a train for Bihar and was found by the Railway Childline at the Ambala Cantt railway station. He was united with his maternal uncle.
A 14-year-old girl had boarded a train from Ludhiana for Delhi to meet her sister and she was handed over to her father. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old girl from Bihar reached the Ambala station with her boyfriend, but he reportedly fled. She didn’t want to go back after which she was sent to the shelter home. TNS
