CHANDIGARH: An employee of an auto dealer has been booked for duping a customer of Rs 10,000 on the pretext of providing a registration certificate to the customer.

An employee of an auto dealer has been booked for duping a customer of Rs 10,000 on the pretext of providing a registration certificate to the customer.

According to the police, complainant Brij Bala, a resident of Kajheri village, stated that she had purchased a new auto-rickshaw from Vishal Auto Agency, Sector 48. Subodh Singh, a resident of Sector 52, who is an employee of the automobile agency, allegedly took Rs 10,000 and documents of her auto for providing a registration certificate in July 2017. 

 The complainant alleged that the suspect neither provided her the RC nor returned the documents and money. 

 The victim approached the police, who registered a case against the suspect under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC at the Sector 36 police station.
