CCTV footage reveals girl visited Manali hotel alone

PANCHKULA: Fresh investigation in suicide by a 15-year-old girl have revealed that she visited a hotel in Manali on December 5 morning alone as per the CCTV footage of the hotel.

Fresh investigation in suicide by a 15-year-old girl have revealed that she visited a hotel in Manali on December 5 morning alone as per the CCTV footage of the hotel.

According to the police, the CCTV footage revealed that the girl had entered the hotel alone and no one was accompanying her. The police said the girl had first gone to Shimla on December 4 from where she boarded a bus for Manali. She reached Manali in the morning. It was in Shimla where her mobile phone was switched off.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Nupur Bishnoi, said as per call details the girl had talked to a boy on December 4. She had been regularly talking to the boy for longer durations, the ACP added. Her mobile phone would be sent to a lab in Gurugram to recover call details, the ACP said.

The police would involve driver and conductor of the CTU bus in which the girl had returned from Manali in order to get information whether anyone was accompanying her during that time, the ACP added.

Even as the Panchkula police are groping in dark girl’s parents still do not believe that their daughter could have taken such an extreme step as she did not even dare to cut onion as it brought tears in her eyes.

Girl’s mother, who is in utter shock, said her daughter had never cut onion as it would bring tears in her eyes then how could she commit suicide.

While talking to The Tribune girl’s uncle said she was very intelligent and reserved person. She never wasted time roaming outside house and if she had to visit a market, she would ask her parents to accompany her, he added.

On December 4, the girl returned from school and later at 5 pm, she as usual left for her tuition, he said. Girl’s father had gone to pay tuition fee and it was there they came to know that she had not come for tuition, he added.

Later, they searched for her and even lodged a complaint with the Dhakoli police station, he said. Till now, they were busy with the last rights of the girl and would meet the ACP tomorrow to seek information regarding investigation, he added.
