Mohali paddlers triumph

CHANDIGARH:Mohali overcame Jalandhar 3-2 to win the Tandrust Punjab State U-14 Table Tennis Tournament in Ludhiana today.

Mohali overcame Jalandhar 3-2 to win the Tandrust Punjab State U-14 Table Tennis Tournament in Ludhiana today. 

Sahil registered a 13-11 6-11 12-14 11-9 11-9 win over Tanisha to give Mohali a head start, but Saksham helped Jalandhar draw level with a 9-11 8-11 11-6 11-6 11-4 win over Jugadveer in the second game.

Jalandhar then took the lead through Aarush, who downed Pritish 12-10 11-13 9-11 11-9. 

However, Sahil defeated Saksham 11-8 8-11 11-7 11-9 and Jugadveer edged past Tanish 11-13 7-11 11-5 11-9 11-9 in the reverse singles to seal a 3-2 win for Mohali. 

Earlier, Mohali blanked Sangrur 3-0 in the semifinals, while they defeated Ludhiana 3-1 in the quarterfinals.
