PGI employee held with pistol, live cartridges

CHANDIGARH: The UT Police have arrested a Class IV employee of the PGI while possessing a country made pistol and five live cartridges.



Chandigarh, August 14

The UT Police have arrested a Class IV employee of the PGI while possessing a country made pistol and five live cartridges.

A team of the Sector 39 police station apprehended the accused, identified as Vikram, alias Vicky, a resident of Sector 24 for possessing a .32 bore country made pistol and live cartridges.

The accused, who was riding a motorcycle, was arrested on the intervening night of August 13 and 14 at a naka on the road separating Sector 37/38. The police have registered a case under the Arms Act against the accused at the Sector 39 police station. — TNS
