Chandigarh, June 15
The three-day eighth Chandigarh Theatre Festival organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Tagore Theatre concluded with the staging of a comedy play, ‘Chinta Chhod Chintamani’, by Yatri drama ensemble from Mumbai, at Tagore Theatre here today.
The Hindi adaption of Vasant Kanitjar’s Marathi play by Ashish Dilke, the play directed by Om Katare, who played the protagonist Chintamani, attempted to highlight the generation gap with the progeny going their own way.
Of all three plays enthused with diverse themes with dominating element of comedy, the opening play, ‘Welcome Zindagi’, with overall theatrical excellence eclipsed the performance level.
Chief guest Jitendra Yadav, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department, expressed gratitude to the artistes and the audience.
Later, Yadav thanked lauded the artistes and lauded them for making the show a great success.
