Pratyaksh wins chess meet

CHANDIGARH:Pratyaksh Goel scored 4½ points to win the Open U-17 title on the concluding day the Chandigarh Chess Championship, at New Public School Sector 18, on Sunday.

Pratyaksh Goel scored 4½ points to win the Open U-17 title on the concluding day the Chandigarh Chess Championship, at New Public School Sector 18, on Sunday.  

Swastik Singhal also scored 4½ points to win the Open U-11 event. Siddharth Bhargav won the open U-7 title by scoring four points, while Ashna Bansal claimed the girls' U-17 final by scoring three points. 

Shirin Bhattacharyya won the girls' U-11 title by scoring four points. Araina claimed the girls' U-7 category title by scoring two points. The top two players in each category have been selected to represent the city in the nationals.  AP Saxena, president of Chandigarh Chess Association, awarded the winners and the participants.
