While the UT police are still grappling to arrest Baljit Choudhary, who is accused of raping a 22-year-old model, the accused has claimed he is being framed in the case by the victim, who was his friend for the past one year.
Although the victim in her complaint to the police had stated that she didn’t know the person who raped her, Baljit Choudhary, while speaking to Chandigarh Tribune, claimed that he, along with his friends and the victim, used to visit clubs and were known to each other.
He has alleged a conspiracy behind the case.
On November 9, Choudhary, along with his friends Pabhjit Gill and Mottu, had visited the victim’s flat in a BMW car. The accused and his friends had visited the flat for the first time on the day of the incident. The victim had sent the location of the flat through WhatsApp at 10.21 pm after which the accused reached there.
“I kept sitting in the car as I didn’t want to go to the flat. However, the victim and her friend insisted, so I went there,” Choudhary claimed.
Choudhary is on run for the past three days while the UT police are conducting raids at various places to nab him. Police sources said he doesn’t stay at the addresses, which they came to know about.
Pabhjit, a resident of Kharar, is also on the run. The police are trying to trace the BMW car bearing a Chandigarh number in which the accused had reached the victim’s flat.
