BATHINDA: National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day was celebrated at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET) of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, with fervor and gaiety.

National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day was celebrated at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET) of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, with fervor and gaiety.

The function started with a guard of honour at the parade ground of the college in which, Col Jeyvendra Singh, Commanding Officer of 20 Punjab Battalion NCC, was the chief guest. The ceremonial march past was performed by NCC cadets from the college as a mark of respect to the NCC flag.

Drill competition, table drill, cultural performances and skilled display of bravery, patriotism and defence were main attractions of the programme. Traditional folk dances of various states of the country were also performed. Cultural performances representing various states such as Manipuri, Gujrati, Rajasthani and Bharatnatyam were given by the cadets. They took a pledge to work towards upholding the unity and integrity of the nation.

Senior cadets were awarded with various ranks. Kirtiraj was conferred with the rank of Senior Under Officer, Ritika Paul with Under Officer and Deepak Kumar with Sergeant. Three Corporal ranks were given to Udit Sharma, Rahul Kumar and Rimandeep Kaur.
