Three youths caught ‘selling’ drugs

MUKTSAR: Some residents of Bidowali village, next to Badal village, here on Friday evening caught three youngsters who were allegedly selling drugs and handed them over to the police.

Some residents of Bidowali village, next to Badal village, here on Friday evening caught three youngsters who were allegedly selling drugs and handed them over to the police.

Meanwhile, the residents said a large number of youngsters in the village were addicted to drugs and some of them were in the 12-15 age group.

They said even the yesterday’s action was planned by the father of an addict.

“A local resident had on Friday sought help from village residents as his son had ordered some injection. And those caught belonged to the village,” claimed some village residents, adding that they had even sought police assistance to curb this menace in the recent past. Meanwhile, the police have booked Lakhwinder Singh, Bikramjit Singh and Harpreet Singh, claiming that 100-gm of poppy husk and empty strip of habit-forming tablets were seized from them. — TNS
