Ayush sprints to gold, silver for Damanjot

CHANDIGARH:Ayush Raikhy of PML SD Public School, Sector 32, won the 100m gold in the boys’ U-17 category at the ongoing CBSE Cluster XVIII Athletics Meet here on Saturday.



Chandigarh, October 13 

Ayush Raikhy of PML SD Public School, Sector 32, won the 100m gold in the boys’ U-17 category at the ongoing CBSE Cluster XVIII Athletics Meet here on Saturday. 

Damanjot of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sector 38, claimed the silver, while Kostubh of Him Academy Public School, Himachal Pradesh, returned with the bronze medal. 

In the U-19 category, Ashish of Ambala Public School pipped Satnam Singh of Sahibzada Ajit Singh School, Roopnagar, to win the gold medal in 100m sprint.  

Ayonk Gupta of Guru Nanak Mission Public School, Himachal Pradesh, bagged the bronze medal. 

Shailya, Harjot triumph

Shailya of Doon Valley Public School, meanwhile, won the triple jump gold in the girls’ U-19 category. She was followed by  Harsimrat of The Scholar’s Home, Paonta Sahib, in second place, while Sukhpreet Kaur of Guru Nanak Public School, Paonta Sahib, claimed the third position. 

In the boys’ U-19 triple jump competition, Harjot Singh of Stepping Stones School, Ritesh of Lawrance Public School, Mohali, and Amerpal of Mata Sahib Kaur Public School, Mohali, won the top-three positions, respectively. 

Yajat wins shot-put title

In the shot-put competition, Yajat of Blue Bells School, Ambala, clinched the gold medal in the boys’ U-17 category. Salamat of Delhi Public School, Sector 40, won the silver, while Yuvraj Singh of Guru Nanak Public School bagged the bronze medal. 

Khushi Rana of PML SD School dominated the field in the girls’ U-17 category. Nandini Singh of SW Public School and Rasleen of GNM Public School, Himachal Pradesh, claimed the second and third positions, respectively.

Aman, Sukhamrit shine

In the high jump contest, Aman Kanwar of Doon Valley School clinched the gold medal in the boys’ U-19 category. Gagandeep Singh of Alpine Public School bagged the silver and Gaurav of Central School for Tibetans, HP, grabbed the bronze medal. 

Sukhamrit Kaur of Mata Sahib Kaur Public School, Roopnagar topped the girls’ U-19 competition in high jump. — TNS
