Bus with Guru Granth Sahib to be flagged off

PATIALA:The Department of Guru Granth Sahib Studies of Punjabi University’s along with Sarbat Da Bhala Trust will send a special bus to Sultanpur Lodhi, Dera Baba Nanak and to all five takhts in view of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

The Department of Guru Granth Sahib Studies of Punjabi University’s along with Sarbat Da Bhala Trust will send a special bus to Sultanpur Lodhi, Dera Baba Nanak and to all five takhts in view of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. 

The bus carrying 16 rare handwritten Guru Granth Sahib will be flagged-off by Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Suresh Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to CM, from the university on Monday. It will also reach all three takhats in the state and two outside. 

Officials of Punjabi University on Sunday said the special bus has been prepared with an expenditure of Rs 62 lakh. Prof Sarabjinder, Head, Department of Guru Granth Sahib Studies, said the Guru Granth Sahib sarup have been written with gold and diamonds.
