Man damages ATM in Sec 15

CHANDIGARH:A man, who visited an ATM in Sector 15, probably to withdraw money, damaged the machine and stole the CCTV camera installed in the ATM booth.

A man, who visited an ATM in Sector 15, probably to withdraw money, damaged the machine and stole the CCTV camera installed in the ATM booth. According to the police, the suspect visited the ATM of Punjab and Sind Bank around 6.30 pm on February 20. The suspect pulled out an ATM card and tried to withdraw money. However, when he could not withdraw the money, he started kicking the machine.

The suspect stole the CCTV camera installed at the ATM booth and escaped from the spot. 

 The incident came to light later following which the police were informed. Urmila Sharma, senior manager, Punjab and Sind Bank, Sector 15, submitted a complaint to the police. 

 The police have registered a case under Section 380 (theft in dwelling house) of the IPC against unknown person at the Sector 11 police station. The police said they had the footage of the CCTV camera and efforts were on to identify the suspect.
