People find fault with recarpeting work

Phase IV residents have expressed dissatisfaction over recarpeting in their area. They say the move has increased the level of roads, which causes huge waterlogging in their area, causing great inconvenience to them.

NS Kalsi, a resident, said, “Due to ‘mindless’ recarpeting, the level of roads in the area has increased as compared to the level of our houses. Due to this, water gets accumulated in our houses during rains.”

Accusing the MC authorities of not adopting the right way for constructing roads, Kulwinder Singh, another resident, said, “The MC should first dig the old road or its upper layer before working on recarpetting. This way the level of road and houses will remain same,” he said.

“We have informed the civic body authorities about the problem several times, but to no avail,” lamented residents.
