Chandigarh, August 14

A snag developed in the online appointment system has badly affected the work at the office of the Sub-Registrar in Sector 17 here.

Sources said due to the snag, the work related to the registration of properties was not being carried out for the past two days, leaving the residents in lurch.

Kamal Gupta, president of the Property Consultants’ Association, Chandigarh, said due to the fault, the owners of the properties were facing problems.

Ravi Gupta, a resident who visited the office of the Sub-Registrar for the registry of his house, said he was told to come after the fault was fixed.

Kamal Gupta said the Administration should continue with the manual system also so that the work was not held up in case the new system developed any problem.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the office of the UT Sub-Registrar had started the online appointment system for registration of properties and other related works a few months ago.

An official at the Sub-Registrar’s office said the system would start working soon.
