Two months on, lawyer booked for rash driving

CHANDIGARH: Almost two-and-a-half months after a lady constable was injured after being hit by an advocate’s car outside the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the police have registered a case against the driver.

Almost two-and-a-half months after a lady constable was injured after being hit by an advocate’s car outside the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the police have registered a case against the driver.

According to the police, the complainant, Usha Yadav who is posted in the traffic wing, had reported that a Honda City car had hit her near the parking area of the High Court on July 31. The victim was injured in the incident and hospitalised.

The police said a case under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 3 police station.
