Chandigarh: A 62-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Sector 41 on Tuesday.



Chandigarh: A 62-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Sector 41 on Tuesday. According to the police, Harmit Kaur took the extreme step in the afternoon. The police said the victim’s son, Ravinder Pal Singh, stated that his mother was upset for a long time. She was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, where doctors declared her brought dead. The police have initiated inquest proceedings in the matter at the Sector 39 police station. Driver found dead in house

Chandigarh: A driver was found dead at a house in Sector 10 on Tuesday evening. According to the police, a call was received around 6.40 pm that Gurdarshan Singh, a driver, had locked himself in the servant room of the house. The police entered the room after breaking the door and found the victim's body. The police said a liquor bottle was found near the body. The victim reportedly had some dispute with his wife, who is residing at Khuda Ali Sher. The Sector 3 police are looking into the matter. TNS
