LG asks govt to audit all children homes

NEW DELHI:A day after the sixth anniversary of Nirbhaya gang rape, LG Anil Baijal has asked the social welfare department to audit all children homes and shelter homes by third-party under their jurisdiction in the capital to ensure the safety and security of the inmates.



New Delhi, December 17

A day after the sixth anniversary of Nirbhaya gang rape, LG Anil Baijal has asked the  social welfare department to audit all children homes and shelter homes by third-party under their jurisdiction in the capital to ensure the safety and security of the inmates.

The LG also instructed education department officials to deploy more female civil defence volunteers and guards in schools and carry out audit of guards deployed in private schools. 

During a meeting of task force on women safety at Raj Niwas, Baijal ordered concerned officials to ensure regular inspections are made by officers in schools to identify and address security deficiencies in schools in the city. — TNS
