Patiala, February 13

A special lecture on Indian Economy and Budget-2020 was organised by the Department of Journalism, Punjabi University, as a part of lecture series on the campus today. Dr Lakhwinder Singh Gill, professor, Department of Economics, delivered a lecture for the students of journalism and said the Indian economy could be strengthened only if the country’s policies were favourable to the farming sector and farmers.

He said, “We need to study the country’s policies. We also need to ensure that the policies do not favour the corporate sector only.”

Students also gave presentations on budgets of various developed and developing countries.
