Chandigarh: The 6th Maharaj Krishan Juniors Golf Tournament will be played at the Chandigarh Golf Club here from February 8-9. The championship will be held in categories A, B, C, D, E and F for children aged between 6 and 18 years, the organisers said here on Wednesday. Players in categories A, B, C and D will play two rounds of 18 holes each over two days, while those competing in categories E and F will play two rounds of 9 holes each, the organisers added. The interested golfers need to register for the event before February 4, said the organisers. TNS

NPS taekwondo players shine

Chandigarh: Soyal Rana Mondal of New Public School (NPS), Sector 18, has won a bronze medal in the Open National Taekwondo Championship at Kolkata. She also bagged the silver medal in the inter-school championship along with schoolmate Phargus Sharma. Kritabh Kaushal won the bronze. Vanya Sharma, also from New Public School, won the gold medal in a state-level taekwondo championship. TNS

Karate meet from January 26

Chandigarh: The Amateur Karate Association of Chandigarh will organise the second edition of the Tricity Karate Tournament from January 26-27 at CL Aggarwal DAV School, Sector 7, here. The winner in each category will be eligible to compete in the upcoming National Karate Championship at Varanasi, the sports body said here on Wednesday. TNS
