Dhankar faces protest in Hisar

Farmers protest outside the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in Hisar on Saturday.

Hisar, July 10

Farmers protested state BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar’s visit to the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) here today.

The police had installed barricades at all three gates of the university.

The GJUST administration had yesterday cancelled the booking of the auditorium, where the BJP function was held, following a protest by famers. An executive engineer of the university had informed this to district BJP president Capt Bhupendra.

The district BJP unit, however, went ahead with the meeting in the auditorium. On getting information, farmers carrying black flags gathered outside the university. They tried to enter the campus, but the police stopped them. — TNS
