Satish Rana, district president of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kisan Morcha, and 20 office-bearers resigned from their posts on Thursday. But within some hours, they took back their resignations.

They took this step on being allegedly ignored by party leaders and public representatives.

The party leadership has assured Rana that the issue would be raised in front of the top leadership. The leadership managed to pacify him over the phone.

Rana, earlier in the afternoon, alleged that he and his officer-bearers were being ignored at the behest of Gharaunda MLA Harvinder Kalyan and state general secretary Vedpal.

“We are being overlooked by the party. So, we have tendered our resignations to Suresh Bhatt, state organising secretary; Subhash Barala, state president; and Smey Singh Bhatti, state president Kisan Morcha,” said Satish after tendering his resignation.

The resignations of almost the whole Kisan Morcha spread like wildfire in the CM’s constituency and the party leadership approached Rana and his office-bearers.

Taking a u-turn in the evening, he said that he and his office-bearers have been assured that their issue would be taken up with the higher leadership, so they have taken withdrawn their resignations.

Harvinder Kalyan denied the allegations and said that his focus was only on development of the area and taking the policies of the party to the people. Vedpal refused to comment on the issue.
