Yamunanagar, February 2

The police have registered a case of cheating after two persons alleged that they were duped of Rs 7.62 lakh on the promise that they would be sent to Spain.

A case was registered against Amit Pal of Dera Bassi (Punjab) and some other persons (without names) at the Sector 17 police station in Jagadhri on Thursday.

Vishal Kumar of Vishwakarma Colony of Yamunanagar and Rajat of Kotarkhana village told the police that they met Amit through an acquaintance in June 2023.

They said Amit and his accomplices assured them that they would send them to Spain.

They said they gave them Rs 7.62 lakh in instalments but the accused handed them fake visas.

They further alleged that the accused were not returning their money.
