Sonepat: Woman stabbed to death over family dispute, probe on

A 20-year-old-woman was stabbed to death on Badshahi road near Panchi Gujran at Gannaur in the district on Friday. The police have registered a case and began a probe into the matter.

The deceased has been identified as Kiran, wife of Kishan. Khazan Singh of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh has three sons Kishan, Dharmender and Jitender.

Around four months ago, Dharmender got married. After that, he has been demanding that Kishan and his wife Kiran should move out of the house.

On Friday evening, Kiran was standing at a ‘rehri’ along with Jitender. Meanwhile, Dharmender reached there and sent Jitender away. He attacked his sister-in-law Kiran with a sharp-edged weapon, said Jitender.

After the assault, Dharmender tried to start the motorcycle but Jitender snatched the key of the bike and Dharmender ran away from there. Family members rushed Kiran to a hospital where she was declared dead.

A murder case has been registered against Dharmender. Prima facie, the reason behind the crime appears to be a family dispute, the SHO added. —TNS
