3 die as car falls in gorge in Kinnaur

SHIMLA: Three persons were killed and two others were injured when the Alto car they were traveling in rolled into a deep gorge at Vikas Nagar Bari near Nichar in Kinnaur on Thursday morning.

Three persons were killed and two others were injured when the Alto car they were traveling in rolled into a deep gorge at Vikas Nagar Bari near Nichar in Kinnaur on Thursday morning.

All the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were residents of Bhawa Valley.

The deceased Suryakant (25), Nain Chand (40) died on the spot, while owner of the car Yogeshwar (29) succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. The injured, Rohit (20) and Mulk raj (20), were rushed to a hospital in Rampur, Police said.

On receiving information, the officers of police and administration rushed from the spot for rescue operations and an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 was granted to the kin of the deceased and Rs 5,000 to the injured.

A case has been registered and investigations are on to ascertain the cause of the accident.
