Shimla, July 21

Senior Congress leaders, including legislators, today staged a demonstration outside the sub regional office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Kasumpti here against the questioning of AICC president Sonia Gandhi by the agency.

CLP Leader Mukesh Agnihotri, chairman of the Congress Campaign Committee Sukhwinder Sukhu, MLAs Harshwardan Chauhan, Dhani Ram Shandil, Nand Lal, Mohan Lal Brakta, Vinay Kumar, Pawan Kajal and Vikramaditya Singh, besides AICC co-incharge Sanjay Dutt and AICC spokesperson Kuldeep Rathore took part in the protest.

The leaders along with party workers marched in a procession towards the ED office and raised slogans against the Central government. They accused the Central government of misusing investigative agencies against opposition leaders.

Agnihotri said that the BJP was trying to intimidate opposition party leaders. “The writing is on the wall. The BJP lost the Mandi Lok Sabha and three Assembly byelections last year. Now, people have made up their mind to vote the party out of power in the state,” said Sukhu.
