Fishing ban till July 31

SHIMLA: Fisheries Minister Virender Kanwar today ordered a ban on fishing in all reservoirs till July 31.

Fisheries Minister Virender Kanwar today ordered a ban on fishing in all reservoirs till July 31.

He said the Department of Fisheries would organise special camps, where staff would be deputed to keep a check on such activities. As many as 16 camps at Pong Dam, 16 at Gobind Sagar Dam, 3 at Kol Dam, 1 at Chamera Dam and 1 at Ranjit Sagar Dam had been put up.

Kanwar said under the Close Season Relief Fund Scheme, Rs 3,000 per month would be provided to fishermen working in the reservoirs during the ban.
