Gadkari to lay stones of Rs 1,385-cr road projects

DHARAMSALA: Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, who is visiting the state on February 24, will lay the foundation stone of road projects worth Rs 1,385 crores in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency.

Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, who is visiting the state on February 24, will lay the foundation stone of road projects worth Rs 1,385 crores in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency. Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur said this in a press release here today.

The roads and national highways for which foundation stone would be laid include widening of Una- Bhiroo section to two lane road measuring 15.73 km and Hamirpur-Mandi stretch of the NH-70 having a length of 109.75 km to be brought up at a cost Rs 1,334 crore.

Besides, Gadkari will also inaugurate road safety scheme. Corridors have been created under the scheme where ambulance, recovery van, route patrol vehicle and cameras would be provided at intervals along the NH stretches.

The highways where the facilities have been provided include Punjab-HP border (near Kiratpur Saheb) and Punjab-HP border (near Gagret). — TNS
