Speed up work on housing colonies to create jobs: Minister



Shimla, August 18

Urban Development and Housing Minister Suresh Bhardwaj today stressed the early implementation of the proposed plan for the construction of residential colonies at Jathia Devi and Rampur in Shimla, Narghota in Dharamsala and Dehra in Kangra and industrial plots in Baddi and Parwanoo so that more jobs can be created.

Presiding over a meeting of HIMUDA here today, Bhardwaj said during the tenure of the present government, a revenue of Rs 110 crore had been generated by HIMUDA from residential and industrial properties. As many as 446 plots and 356 flats were ready for sale at various locations, which would be advertised soon. He stressed the completion of a housing colony at Rampur, Jathia Devi in Shimla, Dharampur in Solan and Rajwadi in Sundernagar.

The minister directed to convert large plots into small industrial plots in Parwanoo and Baddi and directed to make efforts to sell the land. He stressed private participation for better urban and residential development of the state so that more investment opportunities were created in the state. — TNS
