The state government is taking all necessary preventive and remedial measures to contain the spread of coronavirus, Health Secretary Amitabh Awasthi said here today.

“The testing capacity has been enhanced. Out of the 475,263 persons screened so far, 32,197 were found to be Covid positive. The rate of positive cases in the state is 6.5 per cent,” he added.

Awasthi urged people to adopt safe practices to increase immunity and ensure early screening of Covid. He asked them to contact the authorities on the helpline number 104 or avail themselves of the e-Sanjeevani facility in case of fever, cough, cold or other respiratory problems.

He said that to contain the spread of the virus, people should strictly follow the guidelines of the Central and state governments issued from time to time.
