Food joints told not to take orders after 11 pm

JALANDHAR: Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gurmeet Singh on Wednesday issued instructions in which restaurants, bars and pubs were directed not to take orders after 11 pm.

Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gurmeet Singh on Wednesday issued instructions in which restaurants, bars and pubs were directed not to take orders after 11 pm.

In the instructions, he said, “It has come to my notice that a number of restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs falling under the jurisdiction of Commissionerate remain open till late hours at night. It has also been observed that DJs are played even after 10.00 pm. Therefore, no order will be taken in any restaurant, bar, pub and club after 11.00 pm.”

The DCP said no new customer should be allowed to enter the premises of these food joints after 11.00 pm.

He said all restaurants, clubs, bars, pubs or any other such licenced eating or drinking joints except for taverns should be completely shut down by 12.00 pm.

In case of taverns attached to liquor vends, these shall be completely closed at 11.00 pm as per the condition of licence.

The DCP said all sound producing sources such as DJs, live orchestra or singers etc would not be allowed to perform after 10 pm.
