Jalandhar: Continuing its drive against vector-borne diseases in the city under Mission Tandarust Punjab, four anti-larva teams undertook the inspection in Hans Raj Stadium, Guru Nanak Library, Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall, Santokhpura Mohalla and Butta Mandi on Wednesday.

The teams detected the larvae in nine desert coolers, one water tank, three water containers and one pot.

The team members drained water from the coolers to ensure that it does not spread further.

The health staff also made people aware that these places are breeding ground for mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They were told to cover all water storage containers. Besides, old tyres, broken pots and crockery should also be removed immediately.

The drive is a part of the ‘Tandarust Punjab’ mission to check the spread of vector-borne diseases well in advance. — TNS
