It’s B-day before the D-day

It’s B-day before the D-day

Before her wedding to Israeli businessman Adi Ezra, supermodel Bar Refaeli had a whale of a time at her bachelorette in Maldives. “I don’t need the Maldives, the ocean, champagne or perfect weather to appreciate my girls. But it doesn’t harm.” Her clever Instagram captions filled in on anything that the pictures missed. By now, Priyanka Chopra has let all of those watching her intently know that there is something which literally falls well in advance of the D-day. It’s the B-day.

The bachelorette party is  the last party as a single that the bride-to-be enjoys.

Mehar Mandher, a Chandigarh-based law graduate, organised a bachelorette party for her close gang of four girls. “We just wanted to get away and have nothing but fun,” she shares of her trip to the US which included Vegas, Santiago and LA, which happened as recently as last month.

She adds, “Although it wasn’t a quintessential bachelorette but there is no denying the fact it made for most memorable moments. ”

Talk of memories and that is something all bachelorette outings make for, even the ones gate crashed by men. Laughs Ishita Ganguly, TV actor, as she recalls, a supposed to be bachelorette party at Darjeeling taken with her school friends from Kolkata. She laughs, “The bride was from Kolkata only and we were a group of four girls. Even before we could kick- start the celebrations, the boys crashed in. Someone’s boyfriend, husband, friend of friend, and of course, the fiancé.’ She adds laughingly, “And I was the only single person at that point of time.” Boy, did they try to set her up? On a serious note, she has an advice or two for all the brides to be out there. “Just calm down, relax, unwind and breathe. That’s the idea.” It was only last month that Pavit Singh, third year student at Panjab University went to Phuket for four nights and five days with her gang of four girls. “We did all the girlie things. Went to best of clubs at night and had a lot of fun,” she says. For her bachelorette she is already decided on Greece. “It’s beautiful. Plus any time spent with friends you are really close to and can share anything with is cathartic.”

Living it up the celeb way

Sofia Vergara

The model-turned-TV actress didn’t quite have a traditional bachelorette, but she took some time out enjoying and lounging by the pool with her gang of girls, before the big plunge.

Nicky Hilton

Now the Hilton sisters can’t ever be accused of underplaying things, can they? Nicki Hilton, while accompanied by her heiress cousins and, of course, sister Paris Hilton, wore a sparkly tiara, pink sash and the works at her bachelorette in Miami.

Chrissy Teigen

If the Instagram feeds are anything to go by, then American model-come-author Chrissy Teigen along with her girl squad took off to Mexico for her bachelorette. Apart from relaxing, activities included cooking classes, tequila tasting among others. Among the many things that she was sure, she did not want her bachelorette to be ‘indecent’.

Kim Kardashian

Before she famously tied the knot with Kanye West, Kim Kardashian with a handful of her closest friends kick-started her wedding celebrations with a Parisian bachelorette party. A dinner as she termed it ‘last supper’ was followed by a quintessential night out in Paris. “I’m so lucky! I have the best friends in the whole wide world! #ParisNights #LastSupper…No matter what these girls are always there!”
