Kim Kardashian files for divorce from Kanye West

Reality TV star and socialite Kim Kardashian has reportedly filed for divorce from husband Kanye West after almost seven years of marriage. The news comes after months of speculations about trouble in their paradise. According to the representatives of Los Angeles Superior Court, Kim has filed the divorce papers and she has reportedly asked for a joint custody of their four children. The grounds for the divorce were not immediately known, however, a source close to Kanye has shared that the rapper has “resigned to reality”.

“He knew it was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier. This is a sombre day for him,” shares the source. The pair, who began dating in 2012 had a lavish wedding in Italy two years later. Soon after, they rapidly became one of the world's most instantly recognizable couples until recently when the rumour mills started pressing instability in their marriage. Several reasons have been speculated by social media users as to what could’ve been the reason behind the divorce. Many assume it is Kanye’s controversial foray into US Presidential Elections, whereas, some consider his bipolar disorder to be the reason.
