LUDHIANA: The Division No. 4 police have booked three persons on the charge of attempt to murder as they attacked a youth at Fatehgarh Mohalla.



LUDHIANA: The Division No. 4 police have booked three persons on the charge of attempt to murder as they attacked a youth at Fatehgarh Mohalla. The suspects have been identified as Kalu and two unknown persons. Complainant Lal Chand Bhatti stated that on April 23, his son Shiva Bhatti had gone to buy some household items at Gandhi Market where three armed youth cornered and thrashed him badly. They beat his son due to some old enmity, he added. The victim was immediately rushed to the DMC Hospital where his condition was stated to be stable. The suspects are yet to be arrested by the police. TNS

Boy booked for kidnapping girl

Ludhiana: The Sarabha Nagar police booked a boy for kidnapping an 11-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her. The suspect has been identified as Pankaj Kumar of Chandigarh. Complainant Ram Kishore told the police that on April 21, his daughter had left home without informing anyone in the family. Later, he came to know that the suspect had kidnapped her to solemnise marriage. The police have launched a manhunt to trace the suspect and the girl. TNS

Two booked for travel fraud

Ludhiana: The Daba police have booked two travel agents for duping a resident of Rs 1.60 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad. The suspects have been identified as Narinder Singh of Hoshiarpur and Jasbir Singh of Pathankot. Complainant Hazara Ram of Maha Singh Nagar told the police that the suspects had promised to send his son abroad for which they had taken Rs 1.60 lakh from him. Instead of arranging work permit, the suspects sent his son to Jordan on a tourist visa where he was arrested by the police. The complainant spent huge sum to bring his son back from Jordan and now the suspects refused to return the money taken from him. The suspects are yet to be arrested by the police. TNS
