Ludhiana: The Division Number 8 police arrested a biker on the charge of beating a traffic policeman, Jasvir Singh, at Fountain Chowk on Tuesday night. He suffered minor injuries in the incident. The biker has been identified as Tarun Kumar of Partap Singh Wala. Constable Jasvir Singh said on Tuesday at around 8 pm he was regulating traffic at Fountain Chowk. He said when he stopped the traffic from one side, Tarun didn’t stop his bike at the Dugra Mata Mandir chowk. Instead, he stopped near to me and started arguments. Before I could say anything, Tarun started beating me and tossed my turban as well, he alleged. The police were called and the biker was taken to police station. The latter said he had not abused the cop, rather he abused me. He alleged the police instead of taking action against the erring cop, registered a case against me. A case has been registered. TNS
