Choked sewers to be thing of past

Ludhiana Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu today inaugurated work of cleaning sewers by using super-suction machine in Daba area.

The project costs around Rs 33 lakh and 1,850-meter sewer lines would be cleaned in the next two months.

Bittu said residents of this area were facing numerous problems due to constant blockage of sewer lines. He said after the issue came to his knowledge, he asked the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) officials to ensure that sewers were cleaned on a priority basis.

The Ludhiana MP said special machinery has been hired from Jalandhar for the purpose and the project would benefit residents of Ward No. 29, 30, 31, 32, 37 and 33. He said the entire process would be completed within two months. Bittu said super-suction machines would be deputed in all the MC wards.

MC Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon and Councillor Jaspal Singh, were also present.
