Passengers faced inconvenience as most of the government buses were not operational on Wednesday too as contractual employees continued their indefinite strike on the second day.

The protesting employees are demanding from the state government to regularise their jobs and meet other pending demands.

A leader of Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS and PRTC Contract Workers’ Union, Punjab, Jagtar Singh, said the Punjab Cabinet’s meeting was scheduled to be held on Thursday and if no decision was taken in it to regularise jobs of contractual employees of the PRTC and PUNBUS and fulfilling other demands, the employees would stage a protest outside the residence of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on December 10.
