Capturing the pulse right, the Health Department has now approached schools to spread the message regarding Covid-19 prevention. Messages about staying home and preventing contraction of virus will be sent to families through their children. It will be telecast during the online classes of students.

Earlier, mass media teams of the Health Department visited schools for disseminating important information on symptoms and preventions of dengue and swine flu among students during prayer or in classes.

Yesterday, all three awareness teams met principals and authorities of various private schools to seek their coordination to make the drive a success by creating awareness about the disease among more and more people.

The Ludhiana Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Bagga, said, “There’s a famous quote — If you want to make the world a better place, go home and love your family — from which it is evident that every person’s life revolves around his family. So, working on this we have decided to contact the most important member of any family, who is a kid.”

“We have asked schools to include the short message of Mission Fateh, in daily online lessons of kids. The message is in the form of 150 seconds video. It should be played at the beginning of each lesson in order to make kids aware about the Mission Fateh and basic preventive measures to keep Covid-19 away,” Bagga added.

“We have started with a few schools. Shortly, we will try to include this message in every private as well as government school’s online lessons. In the message, kids will be told not to go out of their homes unnecessarily. And if kids have to go outside, they will be asked to wear masks, maintain social distance and wash hands in a right manner,” Bagga said.

The aim of the Health Department is to send the Mission Fateh message through kids to their parents and other family members.

The Principal, Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary School, Dr Navneet Kaur, and the president, Atam Public Senior Secondary School, Sanjiv Jain, said, “The Health Department’s initiative to sensitise students about basic Covid-preventive measures is appreciable. They will also share this message with their family members.”
