Ludhiana lads storm into kho-kho semis

LUDHIANA: Hosts Ludhiana scored an emphatic 11-2 victory over Ropar to storm into the semi-final in the boys U-19 section in kho-kho championship on the penultimate day of the ongoing 64th Punjab Inter-District School Games here on Thursday.

Ludhiana, December 6

Hosts Ludhiana scored an emphatic 11-2 victory over Ropar to storm into the semi-final in the boys U-19 section in kho-kho championship on the penultimate day of the ongoing 64th Punjab Inter-District School Games here on Thursday.

The games are being held at Government Senior Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar and Shaheed-e-Azam Sukhdev Government Senior Secondary School.

In other quarter finals, Patiala defeated Mansa 6-2; Jalandahr overwhelmed Fazilka 12-4 and Sangrur overpowered Mohali to join Ludhiana in the semi- final.

Earlier in the day, Mansa scraped past Faridkot 10-9; Bathinda routed Hoshiarpur 18-2; Patiala thrashed Fazilka 12-1; Moga outplayed Kapurthala 7-5; Amritsar beat Barnala 10-5; Ropar blanked Pathankot 3-0; Sangrur drubbed Fatehgarh Sahib 12-1; Mohali got the better of Moga 14-13; Mansa edged out Bathinda 12-10 and Fazilka beat Amritsar 10-4.

Assistant Education Officer Bikram Bhanot was the chief guest.
