Narjit Singh, who was known to perform poignant and comedy roles with ease at youth festivals held at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has made it to silver screen.

Already selected as a Soil Conservation Officer, the artist has made his debut in a Punjabi film “Vadhayiyaan ji Vadhayiyaan”.

Narjit said he had no desire to become an actor before he entered the PAU. The varsity was already teeming with talented students who were also great actors. When I went to perform in street plays, I discovered penchant for acting.

His acting prowess on stage during youth festival and inter-varsity events not only won him awards, but recognition as well. Karamjit Anmol, actor-cum-singer who had adjudged Narjit, recommended his name for the movie.

Acting on stage made it easier for 27-year-old to perform before the camera as well. “At present, I have been performing regularly at the Suchetak Rangmanch of Anita Shabdeesh at Mohali. Recently, I have also performed in plays organised at the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.”

As an actor, Narjit doesn’t aspire to perform any specific type of roles and characters, but wants to explore the extremes of his acting talent. He won best actor award of the PAU for four consecutive years (2012 to 2015) while studying agricultural engineering.
